Standard Rebar Bends: Copy Job to Global ( Utility Functions )

• Global rebar shape templates are stored in the data directory used by your current version of this program.
• Job rebar shape templates are stored in your current Job and can only be used in your current Job.
• You can use Copy Job Rebar Shapes to copy templates that you have created in your current Job to a library of global templates.
• The number or names of templates currently in your current Job does not change as a result of your using this utility.
• If you later Home > " Change Active Job " to a different Job and want to copy a rebar shape template for use in that Job, you need to use a related utility called Copy Global Rebar Shapes to Job .

Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Start Copy Job Rebar Shapes to Global using the following method:

Method 1 : Home > Utilities > Utility Functions > Copy Job to Global > Copy Job Rebar Shapes to Global . If prompted to do so, enter the " Utility Password " that has been set up for your network.

2 . A selection dialog opens. On it is a list of the rebar shape templates in your current Job .

If there are no rebar shape templates in your current Job, you will be notified of such, and this operation will end without the selection dialog being opened.

Alternative 1 : Select the names of the templates that you want to be copied to the global rebar shape templates repository, then press the " OK " button at the bottom of this selection dialog. Go to step 3.

Alternative 2 : Press the " Cancel " button to end the Copy Job Rebar Shapes to Global operation. Do not continue.

3 . One of the following happens:

Possibility 1 : An alert dialog opens if any of the rebar shape templates you selected in step 2 reside in the global repository. If you press " Yes " on this dialog, you will overwrite the rebar shape templates with those in your current Job. If you press " No " on this dialog, the Copy Global Rebar Items... operation ends. Do not continue.

One or more of the selected items already exists. Do you want to overwrite?

Note: Since global templates cannot be used directly to define a rebar shape profile, there is no danger that overwriting such global templates will have negative repercussions for the model. Only job rebar shape templates can be accessed by rebar shape edit screens -- global templates cannot.

Possibility 2 : None of the templates you selected in step 2 reside in the global repository. The templates are copied to the repository, and the operation ends.

4 . The templates selected in step 2 continue to exist in your Job as rebar shape templates and copies of these same templates are now global rebar shape templates. Users who want to use the templates you just copied in their own Jobs can do so by using a related utility called Copy Global Rebar Shapes to Job .
